The Independent Peer Review service for translators

The IPR service benefits both translators and their customers.

The idea comes from the world of science. Scientific papers are reviewed by other researchers in the same field before they are published. The reviews are anonymous and help both researchers and journals improve the quality of articles they publish. Everyone benefits. We have adapted the idea for translations.

How it works

You are a native-speaker translator and someone orders a translation. You then order a review from us for when the translation will be ready, and we find a reviewer with the required language combination and expertise who is available at that time.

If your customer is not the LSC itself, we invoice you for the review and you send us the payment. This consists of an administration charge + an amount based on a fixed rate per source word. We must have this payment before we order the review.

You send us the source text and translation, and our reviewer checks that everything has been translated correctly and makes suggestions for improvements. These suggested changes and comments then come back to you for final decision.

The reviewer invoices us for the review at the same fixed rate per source word that you paid.

The benefits:

You get an independent quality check of your translation
The reviewer can also learn from doing such quality checking
Your customer gets a double-checked native-speaker translation.
